Treatment Of
Gas In Children
The presence
of gas in the digestive organs is a normal condition. Everyone, whether a child
or an adult, has a little bit of gas in their stomach and intestines all the
time. According to a research paper, an average adult passes two liters of gas
per day and it can be as much as eight liters. Gas treatment in children is
often not necessary unless your child is very restless or in a lot of pain.
What
Causes Gas In Children?
Before
looking for a cure for gas in children, it is important to know the causes of
excessive gas production in children. This can be due to any of the following:
Eating
While Walking Or Playing Instead Of Sitting Down;
consuming
high-fiber foods such as whole grains or high-fat foods such as french fries;
the presence
of an unfavorable protein in breast milk or formula;
Consuming
certain vegetables such as rajmash, gram dal, lentil mash, cabbage, cauliflower
or radish and mackerel, even in some adults, complain of gas and bloating;
drinking too much juice;
Excessive
consumption of carbonated drinks such as seven-up, Pepsi-Cola or Coca-Cola; And
Inadequate
use of water.
Treatment
Of Gas In Children
Alteration
in feeding routine
Do not
overfeed or overfeed the child or give too much milk or drink;
Hold the
baby upright after feeding;
Pat the baby
frequently after feeding;
Children who
are able to walk should get used to eating while sitting in one place;
Do not give
food to the child while walking or playing because during play or walking, food
is not chewed properly due to rapid swallowing and then a large amount of air
is swallowed which can lead to indigestion and gas.
Causes;
Protect the
child from the habit of eating even while using the TV or computer, because the
child may not notice that he is becoming addicted to eating more, which is
harmful to his digestion and gas. Can cause overproduction. And children need
gas treatment.
Choice Of
Food Type:
Allergen-free milk: Some babies' intestines
are sensitive to the proteins in breast or formula milk, and because of this,
they find it difficult to digest this milk and complain of gas due to the
accumulation of undigested milk. Begins to live. If this is the case, the baby's
milk should be changed with the doctor's advice;
A child's
diet should not consist of too many whole grains, high-fiber foods;
Do Not
Give Food Containing Too Much Ghee Or Oil;
Avoid
vegetables that are not acceptable to your baby's stomach as some vegetables
and pulses are gas producing during the digestive process such as radish,
turnip and cauliflower and rajmash and gram dal etc.;
Avoid
drinking too much juice. Most parents try to feed their children as much juice
as it is a healthy food, but if your child consumes more than one glass of
juice per day, then the possibility of gas in the stomach increases. And gas
treatment becomes indispensable in such children. Some children find it
difficult to digest the naturally occurring sugar or fructose in fruit juice
and the added sugar or sucrose and cause a lot of gas;
Do not
consume too much soda in your diet. Baking products such as cakes and biscuits
contain soda and the same is true of carbonated beverages; And
Make sure
your child drinks a good amount of water every day. This water should be clean
and should be given in addition to the milk and juice being given to him.
